Finding myself still awake at 1:35am and asking God to sing me to sleep

One of my favourite Bible passages has always been from Exodus, where God leads the Israelites out of Egypt, guiding them by a pillar of smoke during the day, to shield them from the sun, and fire at night to illuminate the way. It paints such an amazing and real picture of how God goes before us preparing the way, and shielding us from things and guiding us in the darker times. Such a beautiful image, and that image is a reality for us today.

The greatest factor in your ability to hear God’s voice is your ability to believe God loves you enough to speak to you on a moment by moment basis.
Let’s throw out or complicated ‘prophetic formulas’ and teach relationship.

In Charismatic circles, many cry out to have encounters with the Audible Voice of God.
God says, “How can I speak more audibly than a life I’ve made One with Me.”
God is all in all.
God first language is not English.
God wants to speak through EVERYTHING.
God wants to speak through…

It would be a great victory for Christian apologetics if the words ‘God’ and ‘existence’ were very definitely separated except in the paradox of God becoming manifest under the conditions of existence…. God does not exist. He is being-itself beyond essence and existence. Therefore, to argue that God exists is to deny him.

Recently, God has been talking to me a lot about what it means to seek him.
He’s been showing me that sometimes we are too busy trying to run towards him that we are actually running away from him.
It’s like when you’re trying to find that one particular thing for ages, and you can’t find it, but the minute you stop, you realise it was in front of you the whole time.
Be still and revel in the truth that God is with you.

So my church started at their new venue today, meaning we have a lot more freedom, too. Today’s service excited me so much for what God is doing - today they were beginning to introduce the idea of a time for Holy Spirit to do what he wants, and they also officially introduced our first female leader. Have you ever been so excited about what God is doing but unable to understand or see exactly where it’s going to be able to explain it… because that is it!!!!

A couple of months ago, a lady from my church gave me a prophecy about how I was in a period of learning. I agreed, but even since then, that has just been the beginning of my learning.
Through all the things I’ve been learning, a reoccuring thing that God has been teaching me is to look at him.
Hebrews 12:2 says this:
‘Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its
shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.’
It’s interesting how our circumstances are described as ‘every weight and the sin that clings so closely’, because that definitely rings true. But we are told to lay it aside - it’s blocking the way. And once we step out and look objectively at our circumstances it becomes clearer, and we see Jesus, and the truth.
